Advancing Pharmaceutical Excellence in Tanzania

Dear Esteemed Members, Colleagues, and Stakeholders,

It is with great honour and humility that I address you as the President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Tanzania. Our Society, founded in 1962, continues to stand as a beacon of pharmaceutical excellence and professional development in our great nation.

As we navigate the evolving landscape of healthcare delivery, the role of pharmacists has never been more critical. We are not merely dispensers of medicines; we are integral members of the healthcare team, contributing to patient safety, rational drug use, and improved health outcomes for all Tanzanians.

Our commitment to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) remains unwavering. Through structured and unstructured learning opportunities, we ensure that our members remain at the cutting edge of pharmaceutical sciences and practice. The introduction of our digital CPD tracking platform represents a significant milestone in making professional development more accessible and transparent.

I am proud of the strides we have made in advocacy, ensuring that the voice of pharmacists is heard in policy-making forums at national and international levels. Our engagement with the Pharmacy Council, the Ministry of Health, and international pharmaceutical organizations continues to yield positive results for our profession.

To our members across all seven zones, I encourage you to remain active participants in PST activities. Your engagement strengthens our collective voice and enriches the profession. Together, we shall continue to advance pharmaceutical excellence for the benefit of all Tanzanians.

"Together, we are stronger. Together, we advance pharmaceutical excellence."
