Structured vs Unstructured CPD
Structured CPD
- Organized by accredited CPD providers
- Has defined learning objectives
- Attendance is verified and documented
- Certificate of participation issued
- Minimum 20 hours required annually
Examples: conferences, workshops, seminars, webinars, and formal training programmes.
Unstructured CPD
- Self-directed and self-paced
- Learning objectives defined by the individual
- Self-reported with reflection notes
- Supporting evidence may be requested
- Minimum 10 hours required annually
Examples: reading journals, online courses, research, mentoring, and professional discussions.
Important Information
- CPD hours are counted on a calendar year basis (January to December).
- Failure to meet minimum CPD requirements may result in delayed or denied licence renewal by the Pharmacy Council.
- CPD records are subject to audit by PSC. Members should maintain all supporting documentation.
- Excess CPD hours from one year cannot be carried forward to the next year.
