The Pharmacy Council (PSC) requires all practicing pharmacists to complete a minimum number of CPD hours as a condition for licence renewal. Understanding these requirements is essential for maintaining your professional practice.

  • Attendance is verified and documented
  • Certificate of participation issued

Examples: conferences, workshops, seminars, webinars, and formal training programmes.

Unstructured CPD


  • Self-directed and self-paced
  • Learning objectives defined by the individual
  • Self-reported with reflection notes
  • Supporting evidence may be requested
  • Minimum 10 hours required annually

Examples: reading journals, online courses, research, mentoring, and professional discussions.

Important Information

  • CPD hours are counted on a calendar year basis (January to December).
  • Failure to meet minimum CPD requirements may result in delayed or denied licence renewal by the Pharmacy Council.
  • CPD records are subject to audit by PSC. Members should maintain all supporting documentation.
  • Excess CPD hours from one year cannot be carried forward to the next year.
